Installation

OSC (Windows and OS X)

For Max/Msp 4.6
- copy "muio_v0_*maxmsp osc " folder to yourMaxApplicationFolder/Cycling '74/externals"

For Max/Msp 5
- copy "muio_v0_*maxmsp osc " folder to yourMaxApplicationFolder/Cycling '74/"


Direct Max 4.6 and v5.0 only OS X)
-  as above but copy "muio_v0_*maxmsp direct " instead, jump down there.


Getting started using OSC

1 Plug your muio interface in and start the muioOSCserver
2 Open an OSC example patch of your choice.

e.g. m-Log style

The examples set up data send objects for each input for your easy use.
NB
The names on the handheld/m-Log style  are different, otherwise the system is the same.  This is purely for ease of use.


Getting started using Direct muio object
This is much the same as for OSC except...
1 Plug your muio interface in
2 Open a direct example patch of your choice.

e.g. m-Log style

NB neither the muioOSCserver or the muio object broadcast if there is no muio present.

Changing broadcast rate
If you are using the muioOSCserver then refer to the muioServer pages.
You can adjust the metro rate that polls the muio direct object.  This defaults to about 25 times a second, but you can set the delay to 1ms.  If you want it any faster then wait for the muio~ object.
