A tour of the new 8 by 16 board.

  • 8 analogue inputs (2 ports of 4 inputs each).
  • 16 Digital Inputs or Outputs.
  • 2 Analogue Outputs.
  • Controllable analogue voltage range.
  • i2c expansion connector.

The Tour

Analogue input port 0 (/adc0)
These are grouped as 4 sets of 3 pins. +5v, input and 0v
The pin marked in RED is the +5v.
The middle pin is always the input. these are numbered.
Analogue input port 1 (/adc1)
These are grouped as 4 sets of 3 pins. +5v, input and 0v
The pin marked in RED (far right pin) is the +5v.
The middle pin is always the input. these are numbered.
  Controllable analogue voltage range
You can focus each adc port to a particular range. The smallest range is about 1.5v. The trim potentiometer labeled agrnd sets the lower end of the range, while vref sets the higher.
You can set the range for each port individually. The trim pots labelled agrnd1 and vref1 refer to /adc1.
Digital Input and Output
The board has 2 DIO ports of 8 pins each.
They are grouped into ODD and EVEN pins.
Input: Simply connect a pin to VSS (they are pulled high internally) Output: You should use these as sinks.
i2c expansion
Use this port to add more analogue inputs ports, more digital IO ports.
Pin out from left to right: sda scl 5v 0v

Analogue output
There are 2 small holes labelled dac0 and dac1
