Naomi Kashiwagi wanted these swings to 'whoosh' when people used them. Accelerometers fitted to the bottom of the swing detect movement which is then used in a PD patch to control the volume of a sound file.  Some appropriate maths changed the volume to swing control into an exponential function to give the right swooshing effect.  The patch also looped through a text file controlled playlist of soundfiles prepared by Naomi.
